For Students: We will collect, store, and use the following categories of personal information about our students:

  • Relevant personal details

  • Date of birth

  • School reports and any other educational report

  • Photographs/videos for promotional purposes such as on our website and social media pages (see Terms and Conditions for further information).

 

For Tutors: We will collect, store, and use the following categories of personal information:

  • Relevant Personal Details

  • Accreditation documents (Degree/QTS/DBS)

  • Contact details

  • Bank account details

  • Photographs/videos for promotional purposes such as on our website and social media pages.

 

Sources of personal data

We may collect and process information given to us by clients over the phone, via email, online chat (or other social media interactions (for example Facebook and Instagram)), feedback on tuition or information provided to us by clients during a consultation.

Our lawful bases for processing your data

Our lawful basis for processing client and student data is contractual. We will use client and student personal information in the following circumstances:

  • to provide clients and students with tuition services; or a consultation on providing the services

  • to provide clients with information by post, email, telephone, SMS or otherwise about the tuition services or to notify clients about changes to our services

  • to process information to maintain our accounts and records

  • to provide clients and students with information about news, events and other updates we consider may be of interest to them

 

Who has access to your data

 

In order to help provide tuition services, we may share certain personal data about a student as well as client contact information with the relevant tutor. However, sensitive information for example information shared from a student’s Education Plan will not be shared with a tutor without your prior permission.

We will not disclose any personal information to a third party other than as required by law, court order or any governmental or regulatory authority.

 

Security of your data

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

 

How we decide how long to retain your data

To help us keep track of clients and apply relevant discounts or offers we may have, we retain client and student information for a period of 5 years after tuition services have ceased.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to, and a copy of, your personal information

  • Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you

  • Request erasure of your personal information

  • Object to processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about their particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal information for direct marketing purposes

 

Lodging a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office

 

If you believe we have not complied with your rights, you can complain to the Information Commissioner (ICO). The ICO is the UK!s supervisory authority regarding data protection matters and has a responsibility to act on complaints made to it. What if you do not provide personal data?

 

If you do not provide personal data, it is likely to be impossible for us to provide tuition services to you.

Please ensure that you read the privacy notices on the other websites you visit. Although we may provide links to websites of other organisations, this privacy policy does not cover how that organisation processes personal information.
