Caroline Hendries
Founder and Lead Tutor

Caroline qualified as a teacher in 2005 and spent a decade teaching Years 1 to 6 in primary schools across Islington and Notting Hill, London. During that time she built expertise in English, EAL, leadership and SATs moderation - experience that gives her a genuine understanding of how schools work and what they are looking for.
After moving to Guildford in 2016, Caroline set up her own tuition business with a clear focus: to offer the kind of personalised, unhurried attention that is simply not possible in a busy classroom environment. She has since helped hundreds of children gain confidence, improve their results and secure places at some of the most sought-after independent schools in the South East.
Previously trading as Caroline Hendries Primary Tuition, the business rebranded as Surrey Hills Tutors in 2026 to reflect its growing team and wider reach across the region.
Caroline specialises in 7+ and 11+ entrance exam preparation and acts as a trusted adviser to families navigating the school selection process - from understanding exam formats to managing expectations and preparing children for interview.

Angela Hinchcliffe
7+/11+ Specialist Tutor
Originally from South Africa, Angela received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and has over 26 years primary teaching experience. She is also a member of the The Tutor’s Association and holds an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Since joining the team in 2022, Angela has successfully tutored children for their 7+ and 11+ exams in Surrey and Hampshire. Utilising her classroom experience, knowledge and skills, she delivers high quality and engaging lessons across Primary English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning.
